Cuthbert the Owl Goldwork and Stumpwork Embroidery Kit.

This is Cuthbert the Owl who is worked in traditional goldwork embroidery and also incorporates the fascinating technique of stumpwork.

This beautiful kit contains all materials and full detailed step by step instructions to produce this lovely design of a cheeky little owl called Cuthbert.

Learn a number of traditional goldwork techniques such as padding, couching and chip work along with the stumpwork technique of creating wired slips. Learn how to apply goldwork materials such as pearl purl, twist, jap, bright check, smooth purl and kid. Also learn how to use wire and other materials to create his wings.

This kit includes:

Hand dyed cotton with the design painted on is already layered up onto the cotton backing fabric.

Calico with the wings painted on.

 4 inch Hoop.

You can work the design in the hoop provided, but you may find it easier to work it in  a larger hoop first, then transfer to the small hoop once completed.
